Great Britain lifts shipping ban, which is actually in effect from March 2020, on May 17th. At least national travel to the British Isles is possible again.

Facilitating the travel sector is part of the Boris Johnson administration’s Corona project. After that, travel restrictions should be gradually relaxed. It was loudly confirmed Daily Telegraph The Minister is now responsible for shipping. Domestic travel should be allowed again from May 17, 2021.
International shipping companies, such as P&O Cruise or Princess Cruise, which are strongly represented in the British market, have already significantly changed their plans for the summer of 2021. They started from British ports and relied on ships calling only to destinations in Great Britain and Ireland. Guernsey Island is not on the schedule. Cruise ships will not be allowed to go there until 2021.
P&O Cruise commented positively on the decision to facilitate travel from May 17, but said arrangements would take more time and that travel would not begin until a few weeks after May 17. The shipping company wants to announce specific dates in March.
Princess Cruise has canceled the trips of Sky Princess, Regal Princess and Island Princess from Southampton until September 25, 2021, and now wants to offer shorter trips exclusively for British travelers with Regal Princess and Sky Princess, which will also be announced in March.
Gunard Line has canceled trips with a start date before June 21 and is currently exploring possibilities in the UK under the new rules. Saga Cruise is currently only planning a restart for August, and has yet to make any route changes for these trips in the North and Mediterranean.
Riviera Travel uses the cruise ship Sevencher, sold by Viva Cruise in Germany for some UK trips. Tradewinds Voyages wants to sail to Scotland and Ireland with the newly built high-altitude Golden Horizon – a court ruling in March on the conflict with Star Clippers thwarts these plans.
Overall, the journey into the British market as a whole could start again in the summer of 2021 to a significant extent. With the exception of Saga Cruise, which has already issued clear statements in this regard, it is not yet clear to what extent there will be mandatory vaccinations for these trips.
