(Published Jun 22, 2007)

CLEMSON, SC - The Clemson rowing team was the recipient of the 2006-07 ACC sportsmanship award, the league office announced. Teams that received the award conducted themselves with a high degree of character and good sportsmanship, as determined by a vote of the league's teams.

The Tigers were runner-up at the ACC Championships in April, finishing second in all but one race. Clemson went on to a fifth-place finish as a team in the South Region and the novice 8+ claimed the petite final. The Tigers' varsity 8+ was ranked as high as #12 in the nation by the US Rowing/CRCA poll, the highest ranking in school history.
