The Western Carolina Sailing Club's Championship Regatta, held May 26-27 on Lake Hartwell, was won by Will DeHart of Greenville, along with crewman Travis Fortson of Simpsonville. DeHart was the 2006 club champion.

The DeHart/Fortson team placed first in four races and second in another to win the overall 2007 Sailing Championship.

Dick Harder of Anderson, Steve Kiemele of Hartwell and John Kreidler of Simpsonsville, fleet champions of 2006, competed for the championship on Sunday along with DeHart/Fortson.
