Georgians Quartet in concert Sunday, January 31st

The Georgians Quartet will be in concert Sunday, January 31st beginning at 3:00 PM.  The concert will be at The Art Center in Hartwell which is located on Howell street in downtown across from CVS Pharmacy.  Admission is $10.00 each, $8.00 for groups of ten or more.  All tickets to be sold at the door.  Contact Ray Stowers at 706.436.4396 for further information. 

Northeast Georgia Community Concert Association Season cancelled

In light of the current economic conditions which has lead to record levels of joblessness and tight budgets for both local governments and citizens, leaders of the Northeast Georgia Community Concert Association (NEGCCA) have decided to cancel their upcoming season.
Clemson Carrilion

Carillon Concert Sunday, September 27

Dzuris will give an open-air concert on the carillon on Sunday, September 27, beginning at 5 p.m. “Music in the Air VII,” a free concert, will feature sacred and popular selections as well as a composition inspired by the horrific lynching of an African- American in 1916. Following the concert, the public is invited to view the carillon and learn how this unique instrument is played. Concert-goers may bring picnics, blankets, and lawn chairs. Recommended listening spots surround Tillman Hall and include Cox Union Plaza, the Military Heritage Plaza, and the Clemson Carillon Garden across from Tillman Hall.

'Ole Time Fiddlin’ Convention’ - Sat 9/19

An 'Ole Time Fiddlin’ Convention’ will be held September 19th on the outdoor stage at Hagood Mill from 11:00 until 4:00. Prize money will be given in the following categories: string band, fiddle, junior fiddle, banjo, guitar.and “open” (mandolin, dulcimer, harmonica, folk song, etc)  A special category will highlight young fiddlers.

Come join the friends of the Pickens County Museum as “Music in the Mountains 2009” kicks off the new year with the Hagood Mill playing host for a free, foot-stomping old time music concert and jam, Saturday, January 17 from 11:00 until 3:00 in the Visitor Building at the Hagood Mill.
