BRAC Juried Show to open Friday January 16

(Published Jan 16, 2009)

Blue Ridge Arts Council’s 18th Annual Juried Show will open on Friday January 16.  The opening reception will be held at the gallery from 5:30p – 8:00p and is sponsored by Copper River Grill in Seneca.

Open to all local artists, the Juried Art Exhibit is sponsored by the Daily Journal/Clemson Messenger.  Juror for the show is Joe Norman, Professor of Art in the Lamar Dodd School of Art at the University of Georgia in Athens.  Having worked in virtually all media, he is particularly known for his work in acrylics, watercolor, charcoal and lithography.

For the third year, Blue Ridge Arts is partnering with the Seneca Woman’s Club to offer an exhibit.  Artwork that was not chosen for the juried show may be shown in the “Salon” exhibit at the historic Ballenger House. This sister exhibit will open and run simultaneously with the juried show.  Both exhibits will continue through March 11.

Blue Ridge Arts Center is located at 111 East South Second Street in Seneca.  For more information you may call 864-882-2722 or visit www.BlueRidgeArtsCenter.com
