[ In Reports ]Lake Hartwell Fishing Report - November 6, 2009Bass fishing was a little slow during the days last week primarily due to the full moon. Lake levels remain good and the water will warm up fast as the sun comes over the tree tops. Usually the water warms up into the upper 60's by the afternoon hours.

[ In Reports ]SC Fishing Trends - 11/2/2009 - Jocassee, Keowee, HartwellStriped and Hybrid Bass: Good to very good. Captain Bill Plumley reports that his boat has been going after striped and hybrid bass which remain in the bigger water from the mid-lake down to the dam. He is fishing in around 75 feet of water down lining herring. He has also heard about good schooling action for smaller fish up the Seneca in the Martin’s Creek and Coneross area. Captain Steve Pietrykowski confirms that there is strong schooling action for small to medium sized hybrids and striper up the Seneca arm. These fish are chasing small threadfin shad and so it is important to cast to them with small artificial baits.
[ In Paddling ]Rains Bring Chattooga Levels UpIt's safe to say we were relieved with all the rain this season. The Fall Colors are at their peak and recent rain storms has brought up the
level of the Chattooga. This weekend is

[ In Reports ]Lake Hartwell Fishing Report - October 30, 2009The bass are starting to move in and out around the newly submerged brush piles and rocky areas. They are becoming a little more aggressive and are hitting spinnerbaits, jerk baits and medium diving crank baits. An occasional top water bite is still present so keep one tied on.
[ In Reports ]SC Fishing Trends - 10/26/2009 - Jocassee, Keowee, Hartwell - Striped and Hybrid Bass: Good to very good. Captain Steve Pietrykowski reports that there is strong schooling action for small to medium sized hybrids across much of the lake. His boat has been finding from below Oconee Point down to 18 Mile. These fish are chasing small threadfin shad and so it is important to cast to them with small artificial baits. Captain Bill Plumley reports that his boat has been going after the big striper which remain in the bigger water from the mid-lake down to the dam. He is fishing in 50-75 feet of water down lining herring and has caught fish up to 26 pounds in the last few days. He has also heard about good schooling action for smaller fish in the Martin’s Creek and Coneross area.

[ In Tournaments ]SC Law Enforcement Officers Fishing TournamentThe one-day tournament is set to start at 7 a.m. Saturday 10/24/2009. Staging will take place at the Broyles Landing Recreation area at Hartwell Lake. The tournament is open to all bass fishermen, not just law enforcement officers.
