Takeoff and weigh-in will be at Portman Marina located at 1629 Marina Rd. in Anderson, S.C. Takeoff is scheduled for 7 a.m. while weigh-in will begin at 3 p.m. Takeoffs and weigh-ins are free and open to the public.

Results of the SC Bass Federation tournament Saturday 4/10/2010
Andy Hunter of Williamston finished in first place on the angler side with 12.60 pounds. Jason Turner of Anderson placed second with 11.57 pounds, and in third place was Steve Babb of Greenville with 11.33 pounds. Jeff Green took fourth place with 11.30 pounds.

Geocaching Challenge in Georgia’s State Parks
“Anyone interested in geocaching is invited to the kickoff event,” said Georgia State Parks Director Becky Kelley. “Experienced geocachers will help newcomers learn about GPS units and the more social aspects of the game. We’ll have extra caches hidden just for this event, plus animal programs and refreshments.”

Bass and BBQ Lake Hartwell This Weekend 5/1/2010
American Bass Anglers is bringing duel events to Anderson, S.C., and Lake Hartwell: a Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Weekend Series tournament and a barbecue cook-off. The bass tournament is the second event in the 2010 South Carolina Division series. The anglers will begin their day launching out of Portman Marina and then will weigh in at the Anderson Civic Center amphitheatre at the American Bass Anglers barbecue cook-off around 3 p.m.

South Carolina Freshwater Fishing Trends - 4/26/2010
Lake Hartwell - Largemouth Bass: Fair. Guide Brad Fowler says that even before temperatures warmed fish were moving shallower all over the lake, probably because of high water levels and muddier than usual conditions. Bait is moving and so fish are not locked into certain areas yet, but they should start to stage for the spawn soon. For shallow fish crankbaits, jerkbaits and rattle traps will all catch fish, and for the fish that remain deeper football jigs and blade baits are good bets.
