Upcoming Events

Harvest Moon Night Hike, September 26
The Harvest Moon is the full moon that occurs closest to the fall equinox. It’s often one of the most luminous of the year, because the moon is low on the horizon. We’ll take a evening walk in the garden, as dusk fades to night, and experience the sounds, scents, and sensations of a fall night. Please wear walking shoes, and clothing appropriate for walking on woodland trails. Flashlights are not needed.

Hours: 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Fee: $7 per family (up to 5) ($5 for SCBG members & volunteers)
Location: Meet at the Discovery Center parking area

Plant Selection for the Upstate, September 27
Fall provides ideal growing conditions for plant establishment and growth, with warm soil temperatures and adequate moisture. We’ll talk about selecting plants that will thrive in your landscape, whether it’s sun or shade, and how to choose plants that will suit your needs and gardening style. This program is designed for beginning and intermediate gardeners who’d like to expand their gardening skills.

Hours: 10:00 - noon
Fee: $12 includes a behind-the-scenes SCBG plant sale preview ($10 for SCBG members & volunteers)
Location: Nature Learning Center

Do the Botanical Gardens host weddings? If so, how can I arrange to have my wedding there?
