Clemson Alumni Association Gives $50,000 to Golf Program

CLEMSON, SC - The Tiger Golf Foundation has scored a hole-in-one with a $50,000 gift from the Clemson Alumni Association. The gift will help build a clubhouse at the new golf practice facility being built behind Clemson’s Indoor Track and Field Complex.

The gift means that the Clemson Alumni Association now will be the primary sponsor of the Tiger Golf Gathering, an annual golf tournament to raise money for the Tiger Golf Foundation and the South Carolina Junior Golf Association. The Alumni Association also will be recognized with the naming of the patio at the practice facility clubhouse.

“The Tiger Golf Gathering is an alumni-driven success story, and the Clemson Alumni Association wanted to make a strong statement of gratitude to those responsible for its success by designating $50,000 of proceeds from affinity programs for the Tiger Golf Gathering Foundation capital campaign,” said Grant Burns (pictured) of Greer, president of the Clemson Alumni Association.

The Tiger Golf Foundation is a non-profit organization that raises money for the Clemson University golf program and programs of the South Carolina Junior Golf Association.

Funds for the Alumni Association become available when Clemson alumni and friends use alumni services, such as the Clemson Bank of America credit card, insurance programs with Nationwide and American Insurance Administrators and the new Clemson Sports Travel Program.
