Lake Hartwell Fishing Report - November 20, 2009

LAKE HARTWELL IS .87 INCHES OVER FULL, 62 DEGREES, CLEAR BY TIM WHITE - RAPALA PRO 2STAFF
Bass fishing tapered off some this past week, as a cool front with rain moved through. About an inch of rain fell during the week and lake levels are up. A variety of baits are catching Bass right now along with a variety of patterns. Top water baits are still working some and so are a few crankbaits. Lipless crank baits are my choice right now while beating the banks. Bass seem to be scattered and the spotted bass are roaming out of the channels a short distance to feed along the banks. Jerk baits will also catch these fish in the clearer water. Right now fish all the areas that contain good rocks. This is the big factor on finding fish. The bass seem to be moving in and out of rocky banks and points to feed and for only a short period of time. You will need to keep moving from place to place and don't be afraid to re visit areas that produced fish after a couple of hours. Good baits to use this next week include the new Number Six Clackin' Rap, a Number Ten X-Rap and a 1/2 ounce dark green or brown Terminator football head jig.
