Lake Hartwell Fishing Report - August 21, 2009
Bass fishing is picking up some as the night tournaments are starting to weigh in some better weights. It is taking ten to twelve pounds to win, but anglers are catching and losing some nice Bass.

Bass fishing is good with anglers weighing in around 8 to 10 pounds of fish on the average on the night tournaments. There is a good bite occurring between 5:30 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. with the best bite occurring the same times in the evening or p.m. hours.
Lake Hartwell ia a Crappie Lake
The average weight for a crappie is one pound but it is possible to catch crappie weighing up to five pounds

Hartwell DHEC Fish Advisory
On Tuesday, the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control placed Hartwell, Jocassee, Russell and Thurmond lakes under advisories for various species of game fish.
