Hartwell Mega RampThe City of Hartwell will contribute $375,000 to the construction of a mega boat ramp to be built on Lake Hartwell, following a recent vote of City Council. The City and County have also agreed to fund ongoing annual maintenance and operations for approximately $15,000 each.

Spring Fever 2007 RegattaWhat race organizers call "The Largest Catamaran Regatta in the USA" will take place this weekend, April 6-8, on Lake Hartwell. The three-day event includes the Southern Area Formula-18 Championships. There will also be scoring for two-day sailors, either Friday-Saturday or Saturday-Sunday.

Tiger Rowing Headed to George Washington InvitationalClemson, SC - The Tiger rowing team is scheduled to compete this weekend at the George Washington Invitational in Washington, DC. The regatta, held on the Potomac River, will feature Clemson, Delaware, George Washington, Georgetown, Iowa, Navy, and St. Joseph's.

Portsmouth Open Sailing RegattaThe Portsmouth Open Sailing Regatta was held Saturday March 31 and Sunday April 1 at Wetsern Carolina Sailing Club on Hartwell Lake. Twenty nine, centerboard sailboats competed in four classes: Buccaneer 18, Lightning, Flying Scot and Open Portsmouth.

2007 Hartwell-Gold Poker RunThe
Lake Hartwell Sail and Power Squadron kicks off the summer with their annual Hartwell Gold Rock 101 Poker Run on Lake Hartwell to benefit Meals on Wheels of Greenville and Anderson. The highlight of the event is the Vessel Safety Check (VSC) to help boaters start their summer off safely.

Sailing Regatta this WeekendThe Western Carolina Sailing Club (WCSC) will host the annual Portsmouth Open Sailing Regatta on Saturday and Sunday, March 31-April 1. The Open is the first official sailing event of the 2007 summer season and is classified as a southeastern, regional sailing event for centerboard sailboats.
