There were 107 entries in the Hartwell Gold Poker Run and the Lake Hartwell Sail and Power Squadron inspectors performed 106 vessel safety checks between Friday afternoon, May 18, and Saturday morning, May 19. Jim Stewart led the parade with 16 inspections and had the support of an eleven man team consisting of Huub Bakx, Morice Smith, Bert Baxter, Ray Fedele, Pete Stevenson, Rick Cunningham, Barney Barnhill, Charles Heath, Dan Ray, Joe Barilovits, and Lynn Solesbee. In addition to the previous Saturday’s work done at Broadway Lake, Rick Cunningham has gotten us started toward one of our strongest performances yet.

Upcoming opportunities to conduct even more vessel safety checks to the general public arrive on 21 July at Portman Marina. Rick is also in contact with the folks at Sea Ray of Greenville to offer our presence during an upcoming customer appreciation day they have in the works.
