According to Dottie Lewis, the July 4th happenings at Foxwood began with a horseshoe tournament at JR McCullough's home.  A covered dish supper was enjoyed by 40 property owners and guest.   Then there was BBQ at the restaurant. I had asked last week in Newsy Notes for someone to give some kind of information to the people about the Depot Project. Thanks to the ones who shared such information in the article on the front page that same week.

Did You Know? … that drinking two glasses of Gatorade can relieve headache pain almost immediately  … that Colgate toothpaste makes an excellent salve for burns. … Mix 1 Tablespoon of horseradish in 1 cup of olive oil. Let the mixture sit for 30 minutes, then apply it as a massage oil, for instant relief for aching muscles. …Sore throat? Just mix 1/4 cup of vinegar with 1/4 cup of honey and take 1 tablespoon six times day. The vinegar kills the bacteria…. Honey remedy for skin blemishes ... Cover skin blemish with a dab of honey and place a Band-Aid over it. Honey kills the bacteria, keeps the skin sterile, and speeds healing. Works overnight. … splinter remover ...just pour a drop of Elmer's Glue all over the splinter, let dry, and peel the dried glue off the skin.

Had a nice note from Sara Burton this week. She said that she enjoys the Newsy Notes and that she appreciated my telling you all about her granddaughter Nichole Boseman.
