How many times have you said to yourself, “I wish I had a place to go to where I could get away from it all and leave the world behind."?
Welcome to Low Country Retreat, located at 152 Wilkerson Drive, Westminster, 29693. Drive through the stone entrance and enter a charming South Carolina community that caters to folks looking for a comforting lifestyle with a serenity of a rural retreat. Leave the world behind.
Low Country Retreat offers an encompassing lifestyle for all generations - a beautiful location to host your family, enjoy the beauty of the outdoors and treat yourself to the rewards of living.
Location, Location
Low Country Retreat consists of 118 acres of the Col. Benjamin Cleveland Revolutionary War era estate which is ideally located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the north west corner of South Carolina on the shores of beautiful Lake Hartwell. Only 90 minutes from Atlanta and 55 minutes from Greenville, our location offers the rare blend of close proximity to urban areas and college campuses with the serenity of a privileged Southern retreat. This property features ridge lines covered with extensive hardwood forests, open meadows that have been carefully maintained for decades and over 1900' of shoreline.
We are offering a limited number of homes sites for 45 to 50 families which include Estate Lots, minimum 2 acres - maximum 5 acres, and Cottage Lots nestled along the shoreline of Lake Hartwell.
We have partnered with award winning individuals to return the Equestrian Center to its rightful position as one of the South’s best. Utilizing the existing barns, stalls, outdoor and indoor arenas and individual paddocks, we will have something for riders of all abilities. You can choose to board your horse or you may reserve a community horse to ride at your leisure. The health and safety of the horses on-site is of utmost importance so there will be a full-time stable master and a veterinarian and ferrier will be available as needed. There will be approximately 10 miles of paths winding through the property that will give everyone the opportunity to ride and view this scenic area.
The restored 5,500-square-foot Lodge provides a gathering place for residents and their guests daily and on special occasions. It is located on a rise where it commands grand views of the rolling fields and beautiful Lake Hartwell. Don’t feel like cooking - just call the chef. He will prepare a wonderful meal for you to be served at the Lodge or your home.
There will be two community marinas with covered slips and lifts providing full lake access for owners who have their own boats. The Home Owners Association boats will be available for owners who prefer to avoid the ongoing responsibility of individual boat ownership but desire to experience the pleasures of an evening cruise.
Another great amenity offered is the 6-hole, par-3 golf course, which will gently wind around two ponds on the west side of the community. The golf experience will be enjoyed by all family members from the 5-year-old youngster to the great grand parent, regardless of your skill, at a leisurely pace that is “just right for you”.
If gardening is your forte, join in at the community gardens where an abundance of vegetables, blueberry and blackberry bushes, and strawberries have been planted for use by the whole community.
A few other amenities being offered are exterior maintenance, an activity center for the younger generation, and a kennel for your pet if they aren’t traveling with you.
Low Country Retreat has been designed to provide an environment that will allow multiple generations of families to enjoy the extroardinary amenties together and to insure that your time is spent doing what you want to do - not what you have to do.
