Newsy Notes from WestminsterI am saddened to hear that there is a real possibility of a power increase in Westminster. I do so pray that the city fathers will find a way for that not to happen. My husband and I researched the power rates in America and found that we, right here in Westminster, already pay the highest power rates of any where in the nation. We must get out from under PMPA! Help, City Council!!!!!

"Newsy Notes" from WestminsterEach time I walk, I enjoy watching the trains go in front of my home and through our fine city. We who live here are blessed.

Newsy Notes from WestminsterI had the nicest face to face chat with my friend Sandy Sandifer on Wednesday of last week. He again said how much he and his family appreciate all that everyone has done for them since the fire.

Newsy Notes from WestminsterI do not know if it is because February is the shortest month or what, but it has really gone by fast. It is good to have these pretty days but I imagine March will bring some high winds and cold days!

As we begin LENT, I would like to share the following:
JUDGE GENTLY
Pray, don't find fault with the man that limps
Or stumbles along the road.
Unless you have worn the shoes he wears
Or struggled beneath his load.
There may be tacks in his shoes that hurt
Though hidden away from view.
Or the burden he bears placed on your back
Might cause you to stumble too.
Don't sneer at the man who's down today
Unless you have felt the blow
That caused his fall or felt the shame
That only the fallen know.
You may be strong but still the blows
That was his if dealt to you
In the selfsame way, at the selfsame time
Might cause you to stagger too.
Don't be too harsh with the man that sins
Or pelt him with word or stone
Unless you are sure - yea, doubly sure -
That you have no sins of your own.
For you know, perhaps,
If the tempter's voice should whisper as soft to you
As it did to him when he went astray
It might cause you to falter too.

Newsy Notes from Westminsterby Rolann Lee
It is a shock to lose any material possession…a piece of money, a piece of jewelry, a car, -yes we tend to search for what we had lost. Material loss has a different emotional factor than, of course, in human loss…there is no comparison, but when the material loss is “everything owned on this earth---there is trauma in the emotional loss…all of the children’s art work, all of the report cards, all of the family pictures, the things grandmother may have given; yes, in a house fire when the total contents are lost there is deep emotional trauma. Such happened to one of our own families this last week.
