The S.C. Department of Natural Resources will hold a free fishing day for children 12 years old and younger from 9 a.m.-12 p.m., Saturday, May 19, at the Piedmont Forestry Center off Highway 11. Registration is at 8 a.m.

Fishing equipment, bait, refreshments and prizes will be provided.

The event is handicap accessible. Adults are not allowed to fish.

Take Highway 11 North from Walhalla, left on Cheohee Valley Road, left at Piedmont Nursery Road.
