Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall to be in Toccoa

TOCCOA, GA - The Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall will be at Boyd Field in Toccoa, March 27-30. In 1982, the Vietnam Memorial was erected in Washington, DC to honor the men and women who had given their lives during the Vietnam War. The Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall is a 3/5 scale of that wall. It stands six feet tall at the center and covers almost 300 feet from one end to the other.

  • Thursday, March 27
    Wall goes up for viewing - 12 pm
  • Friday, March 28
    Open to public 24 hours
    9 am - 9 pm: Volunteers available to help locate a name
    6 pm: "Laying of the Wreaths"
    7 pm: Opening ceremonies
    Keynote speaker - Joe Alexander, Company A 3rd Battalion, 506th Airborne Division
  • Saturday, March 29
    Open to public 24 hours
    9 am - 9 pm: Volunteers available to help locate a name
    7 pm: Banquet
    Keynote speaker - Retired Captain Tommy Clack, Georgia Veterns Services
  • Sunday, March 30
    Open to public
    6 pm: Closing ceremonies
    Keynote speaker - Retired Col. Ben Purcell, former Vietnam POW
