Stephens County Foundation to Sponsor Tugaloo River History Tour
On Saturday, July 11, the Stephens County Foundation will be sponsoring a canoe/kayak river history tour of the Tugaloo Corridor. Kelly Vickers, archivist for the Foundation, will be sharing Native American history and early pioneer stories along the Corridor. Interested paddlers and history buffs meet at Walker Creek Boat Ramp for departure at 9:00 am. BYOB-"Bring Your Own Boat" and packed lunch. Takeout will be early afternoon adjacent to the Tugaloo Mound. Basic shuttle service will be provided back to Walker Creek at the end of the tour.
