Clemson Extension Offers 4-H2O Camp this Summer

PICKENS – Clemson Extension is offering a 4-H2O camp for ages 8 to 12, June 16-18 and July 22-24. Cost is $25, which includes a certificate of completion, t- shirt, program supplies, daily morning snack and a hot dog lunch on the last day. In June, the camp will be held on land and on pontoon boats at Mile Creek County Park near Six Mile. The July camp will be held around Easley streams.

Participants will get the chance to learn about enhancing and preserving the intricacies of the aquatic ecosystem, basic techniques of fishing, bait-crafting and orienteering.

“By integrating classroom teaching methods with hands- on activities, the 4-H20 Day Camp has successfully educated numerous youths,” said MargueritePorter, Clemson Extension 4-H agent in Pickens County. “We believe thisprogram will ultimately benefit the entire community by enhancingenvironmental awareness.”
