Horticulture field day set for Sept. 25

Held every two years, the field day will be at the UGA Horticulture Farm in Watkinsville, Ga. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Rain or shine, tours start at 9 a.m.

Green industry professionals are invited to pull on their walking shoes and join University of Georgia faculty for the UGA Ornamental Horticulture Research Field Day on Sept. 25.

Held every two years, the field day will be at the UGA Horticulture Farm in Watkinsville, Ga. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Rain or shine, tours start at 9 a.m.

Faculty will be stationed throughout the farm to discuss research projects. In addition, retired UGA professor Michael Dirr will show some of the new plants from his ongoing breeding and evaluation program.

The $20 registration fee includes a barbecue lunch and parking passes for those who want to visit the UGA Horticulture Trial Gardens, which are located in Athens.
