Fair Play Community Association meeting Thu August 19th 7pm

(Published Aug 10, 2010)

Fair Play’s Future: With the establishment of both an I-85 overlay between exits 2 and 4, as well as a village of Fair Play overlay in Oconee County’s ZEO, there is clearly change in the community’s future. Infrastructure improvements, including the new, larger water pipeline recently installed, and plans for a sewer facility at the Golden Corners Commerce Park, mean that we can anticipate things to start changing sooner rather than later.
To help effectively plan for and guide this change, the Fair Play Community Association (FPCA), in conjunction with the Voice of South Oconee (VOSO), is sponsoring an information forum & planning session at 7pm on Thursday, August 19th at the Fair Play Youth Center. Conducting this meeting will be Dr. Robert Becker, Clemson professor and director of the Thurmond Institute of Government & Public Affairs, as well as Dr. David Hughes, Clemson professor and economist for the Clemson Institute for Economic and Community Development. They will help us understand what changes we might expect to take place, by reviewing the actual experiences of other communities that have recently experienced growth. They will also recommend things that we should consider doing to help direct future changes, ensuring that the resulting community is what we all want it to be.

 - If you are a member of the FPCA and are NOT receiving e-mail communications from them, please let us know at VoiceOfSouthOconee@Gmail.com.
