3-Year-Old Found; Arrangements Made

OCONEE, SC - The body of three-year-old Joshua Dorchak, who was pulled underwater on Lake Jocassee despite wearing a lifejacket when his father's sailboat capsized on June 8, was found Friday, June 22. He was caught in the boat's rigging when is was blowed over by a gust of wind.

OCONEE, SC - The body of three-year-old Joshua Dorchak, who was pulled underwater on Lake Jocassee despite wearing a lifejacket when his father's sailboat capsized on June 8, was found Friday, June 22. He was caught in the boat's rigging when is was blowed over by a gust of wind.

Divers found the Dorchak and the boat in over 100 feet of water. Over 700 volunteers assisted in the search.

The family will be receiving friends at the home on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. The Mass of the Angels will be celebrated on Friday, June 22, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1209 Brushy Creek Road, Taylors, with a reception to follow at the church. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting.

In lieu of flowers, gifts and remembrance donations may be made to the Joshua Dorchak Memorial Fund, c/o Greer State Bank, P.O. Box 1029, Greer, SC 29652-1029, attention: Vic Grout, where a charitable fund, with the help of Firehouse Subs, has been set up to provide meals for search and rescue teams looking for small children.
