Currahee Club files for bankruptcy
The Currahee Club filed a voluntary petition for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, otherwise known as a reorganization bankruptcy, on Sunday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court Northern District of Georgia. The community next will begin a process of following a bankruptcy plan.

June 13th - Sat - 7th Annual Newry Folk Festival
Everyone is invited to join in celebrating Newry’s anniversary! The 7th Annual Newry Folk Festival will again be held this year on June 13th from 10am until 4pm. Festivities include craft vendors, musical entertainment, food and much more. The day’s events will again include a banjo, fiddle and guitar competition from 2:00 – 3:00pm on the main stage. The competition will include a youth (ages 14 and under) and adult category for each instrument.

Hart County board votes to lease land for fishing area
The Anderson Independent ( http://www.independentmail.com/ ) reported Tuesday May 26th that The Hart County Board of Commissioners voted to approve the lease of 35 acres from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for a fishing area on Hartwell Lake.
