Greer Furniture and G.E. Appliance Co., which has been serving North Georgia since 1956, has “a loyal and experienced staff” that continues to follow the founder’s example, says company spokesman Thomas Jordan. “Mr. Greer taught us to make the customer happy, and that’s what we do,” says Jordan, who worked his way up under Greer’s guidance and training.

 

The business, which is located at 41 South Forest Avenue in Hartwell, has been rebuilt since being devastated by a fire caused by lightning. It now has a huge new showroom for displaying its many products, which include appliances, home furnishings and accessories. Home delivery and appliance set-up is provided, and the company services what it sells.

 

Brand names available at Greer include Mobel Furniture, England, Lazy Boy, Sealy Posturepedic, Vaughn and General Electric.
