HARTWELL, GA - The Hart County Chamber of Commerce have had to cancel two water-based events in 2008. The Spring Fever Regatta and the Antique Boat Festival have been cancelled. The previous 10 years of the regatta have been held at Milltown Campground, a U.S. Corps of Engineers' site. The Corps, however, has closed the campground indefinately, and organizers were unable to arrange a suitable location.

The boat show has been cancelled because of the drought.

The Chamber is planning the following events in March and April:

• March 1-29, 2008 - Juried Wood Show
• March 28, 2008 - Pilot Club Annual Turkey Supper
• April 16, 2008 - Super Senior Citizens Expo
• April, 2008 - Annual Photography Show at Art Center
• April 18-19, 2008 - Master Gardener Plant Sale
• April 19, 2008 - Craft Sale at the Arts Center
