Hart County Mega Ramp Nears Completion

The new Mega-Ramp facility features six new ramps (and an existing one), approximately 150 parking spaces for vehicles with trailers, and approximately 85 parking spaces for spectators.
The Golden K fishing tournament will be held on September 11, 2010 and is organized and run by the Hart County Kiwanis Golden K club to raise funds for their home access ramp building program, which builds access ramps for those in Hart County who need them.

A new Lake Hartwell Mega-Ramp facility is nearing completion in Georgia that will be an excellent venue for fishing tournaments. It is known as the Gum Branch Recreation and Tournament Facility located in Hart County, just outside the city of Hartwell. It will be completed in June and both the city of Hartwell and Hart County Commissioners have endorsed the Hart County Kiwanis Golden K club as one of the first fishing tournaments to take advantage of the new facility.

The new Mega-Ramp facility features six new ramps (and an existing one), approximately 150 parking spaces for vehicles with trailers, and approximately 85 parking spaces for spectators. Some of the other parties involved in the new Mega-Ramp include; U. S. Corp of Engineers, Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Go Fish Georgia Program, UGA Archway Partnership, Leadership Hart, and the Hart County Chamber of Commerce.

The Golden K fishing tournament will be held on September 11, 2010 and is organized and run by the Hart County Kiwanis Golden K club to raise funds for their home access ramp building program, which builds access ramps for those in Hart County who need them. The engineering and labor for ramp construction is provided by the Golden K club members and the only expense is the materials. The recipient is never billed anything for their ramp. The cost of materials for the ramps is funded thru the fishing tournament, an annual golf tournament, and donations.

Information about the Hart County Kiwanis Golden K fishing tournament along with registration forms can be obtained on their web site www.hartcogk.com, emailing fishing@hartcogk.com, or calling Steve Cox at (706) 377-4815.
