Siren test scheduled for Friday

(Published Mar 7, 2008)

CLEMSON, SC - Clemson University will conduct a test of campus sirens at 9 a.m. Friday. Sirens will sound followed by a voice message indicating it is a test. This testing is part of normal maintenance and no public action is necessary.

Periodic tests of Clemson University sirens are usually coordinated with Oconee Nuclear Station; however, Friday's test will involve only campus sirens.

In the event of an actual emergency, you should tune your radio or television to an emergency alerting station for instructions and information. These sirens could be used to alert you to emergencies at the nuclear station as well as any other type emergency in the area.

For more information on what to do when the sirens sound, visit www.Clemson.edu/CUSafety.
