There will be a presentation of the Final Keowee Toxaway Recreation Management Plan on January 29, 2009 at 6:00pm in the Duke World Of Energy  Auditorium, sponsored by Duke Energy.The final RMP was filed with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) on December 23, 2008. FERC has posted the plan and consultation record on its website.

Upon approval of the RMP by FERC, Duke will implement the plan to guide  management of existing public recreation resources on Lake Keowee and Lake Jocassee through the remainder of the current FERC license term which  expires in 2016. The plan provides a robust schedule for development of  numerous recreation facility enhancements by the end of 2015 at the Duke  access areas, county parks, and state parks surrounding the lakes.
