Study Concludes that Drought has far LESS Economic Impact Than Expected

The results of a study conducted by The Strom Thurmond Institute were released Wed 11/10/2010. The study, which cost $211,522, concluded that the economic impact of low water levels due to the 2007 - 2008 drought was small. The study reported that the drought resulted in a loss of 56 Real Estate transactions, a loss of 23 Jobs, and a loss of about $19 Million in economic output BUT when compaired to the total economic output of the 6 County area the impact was only 6/100 of 1%
