The Lake Hartwell Association sponsors a Regional Meeting Series. The purpose of these meetings is to keep LHA members and the general public informed and up to date on the most recent information regarding Hartwell Lake. The upcoming meeting, originally scheduled for the end of February, has been rescheduled for Thursday, March 4 at 7:00 p.m. It will be held at the First United Methodist Church located at 200 E. Howell Street in Hartwell, GA. The meeting is open to the public, and we invite you to attend. Be sure to invite your neighbors and friends.
The featured speaker will be Tonya Bonitatibus, a member of the National Riverkeeper Organization. Edward J. Kertis, Commander of the Savannah District Corps of Engineers and Gary Lance, River Captain for the Upper Tugaloo, will also be speaking. Other topics of discussion will include: (1) SC legislative efforts to create a water council; (2) the evils of ethanol in gas and its effect on your boat motor; (3) PCBs and removal of the third dam in the Twelve Mile River; and (4) recent activities of the Georgia Regional Water Planning Council for the Savannah River basin.
