The Lake Hartwell Association was organized "for the sake of the lake" in 1989 with a charter membership of approximately 300. Today, Lake Hartwell Association enjoys a membership of about 2,200.

The Lake Hartwell Association exists to provide a focus on this clean, enjoyable lake and watershed, to maintain its high quality, to provide a forum for discussion and action on lake-related issues, and to guide wholesome growth while retaining its desirable characteristics.

The Lake Hartwell Association is operated entirely by volunteers. Members may join a committee, attend our two annual general membership meetings, or simply keep up to date on happenings through our quarterly newsletters and this web page while being a part of our strength in numbers.
