Dock Permits-The new Shoreline Management Plan (SMP) requires docks to physically be in place by Jan 1, 2008 for folks holding open permits. Due to low water levels, and the difficulty placing docks, the Corps is extending this deadline by one year. All other provisions of the new SMP remain in place.

Watering Withdrawls-The Corps has notified permit holders that water withdrawals may not be made for purposes of irrigating private property. This ban will be in effect until no further watering bans exist in surrounding areas of either Georgia or South Carolina. As you are aware, a watering ban exists for all of northern Georgia.
