Westminster South Carolina Apple Festival

WESTMINSTER, SC - Come visit Oconee County, South Carolina's "Golden Corner" September 7-8, 2007 and be entertained at one of the oldest festivals in the south, The South Carolina Apple Festival. This is the 46th year for the Apple Festival, which celebrates the beginning of the apple harvest in Oconee County.

The festival peaks on Friday and Saturday with numerous events including the Apple Festival parade, children's craft booth, talent competition, and clogging expeditions. The chorus, strings, and band groups from the local schools will be providing entertainment during the day on Friday. Other entertainment is scheduled for Saturday.

The IRPA World Championship Rodeo will be at the rodeo grounds on Bibb Street and will surely bring a thrilling end to each day. The rodeo is scheduled at 8:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday, September 7-8.

If physical activity is more your style, come participate in whitewater rafting, the local golf tournament, or the 5k Road Run. For information to register for these events, e-mail Festival@WestminsterSC.com.

In addition to all of the events taking place, downtown will be alive with numerous craft booths, kids rides, and wonderful food vendors that will tempt the strongest of will powers. Whether you enjoy whitewater rafting, shopping for arts & crafts, browsing antique shops, watching a parade, listening to good music, or attending a world championship rodeo, the South Carolina Apple Festival offers something for everyone in the family.
