Volunteers Needed to Help with Fishing Tournament

HARTWELL, SC - The Jim Austin Buddy Trail Fishing Tournament will take place at Big Oaks Recreation Area on October 21-22 and many community volunteers are needed. If you can help please contact the Hart County Chamber at (706) 376-8590.

September 22, 2007 - ARTS in hARTwell Festival of Heritage and Fine Arts. The 9th annual ARTS in hARTwell Festival of Heritage and Fine Arts in historic downtown Hartwell Georgia. The event starts at 10 a.m. and continues until to 4 p.m. with an assortment of activities, including juried fine art, heritage music, children's creativity booth , and craft demonstrations. The ARTS in hARTwell Festival focuses on the heritage crafts of yesteryear, as well as contemporary fine crafts and fine arts. Artists compete for prize awards and demonstrate their skills creating contemporary or heirloom pieces. The Arts in hARTwell Festival is sponsored by the Hartwell Downtown Development Authority. September 23, 2007 - "Smoke on the Mountain" to benefit Prevent Child Abuse Hart County. The performances will be at 2:00PM and 6:00PM at First United Methodist Church in Hartwell. Admission is $10.00 per person. Smoke on the Mountain is a hilarious comedy packed with vintage gospel music. The setting takes place in 1938 at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant, North Carolina. The play presents a Saturday Night Gospel Sing featuring the Sanders Family in their first night back from the gospel circuit in five years. The audience plays the part of the congregation. Smoke on the Mountain features over 27 gospel hymns, a number of which will be familiar to the audience. The music includes both traditional gospel and Blue Grass.
