CLEMSON, SC - The National Center for Construction Education and Research will host a leadership academy for women in the construction industry Oct. 28-31 on Lake Hartwell at Clemson University.
This National Association of Women in Construction Leadership Academy is a partnership between the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) and National Association for Women In Construction (NAWIC). It is designed to enhance management and people skills and reinforce the technical skills needed to run a profitable operation. Cost for the academy is $1,295, which includes tuition, books, and room and board. Topics include leadership and management styles, negotiating techniques, time management and conflict resolution.
This NAWIC Leadership Academy is a partnership between NCCER and the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC). The academy is designed to enhance management and people skills and reinforce the technical skills needed to run a profitable operation.
“This academy will provide women with the opportunity to elevate their careers and their management and leadership roles within their company and the construction industry,” said Don Whyte, NCCER president.
Cost for the academy is $1295, which includes tuition, books, and room and board. Topics include, but are not limited to, leadership and management styles, negotiating techniques, time management, and conflict resolution.

Participants experience an intense, three-day session of group projects, team building exercises, case studies, and lasting networking opportunities. Participants will also receive a certificate of completion and wallet card from NCCER’s National Registry.
More than 3,000 management personnel representing more than 600 companies worldwide have attended NCCER’s Construction Management Academies.
