Show and Sale at Hartwell Marina
Hartwell Marina will have a boat show and sale on Saturday, May 5, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., at 149 Hartwell Marina Road in Hartwell. The marina is located on the shores of Lake Hartwell at the end of North Forest Avenue, two miles from the square in Hartwell, GA.

Anderson Auctioning Autos
The City of Anderson is auctioning five used automobiles - three trucks, an SUV and a car - on GovDeals.com, with bids starting at $100 for each. Auctions close beginning May 9. Descriptions and photos are available on the website. The condition for all of them is listed as poor but they were all running when they were parked.

"Fish the Fall" Tournament Ends
The "Fish the Fall" bass tournament on Lake Hartwell and other lakes concluded its regular season April 28 on Lake Russell with Mark Smith and Scott Jeter finishing as the points leader and a $6,245 purse with only 22 boats on the water. The championship will be May 25-26 on Lake Greenwood.

Sailing Club Offers Prototype For Community
I can’t remember the last time I spent a day at Hartwell Lake.
I’m a typical Anderson resident, proud of the silent behemoth in our community but uncertain of what it means in everyday life. Most of us take it for granted or don’t happen to own a boat. Meanwhile, people drive up from Atlanta or down from places like Greenville and Charlotte to enjoy the lake.

The Clemson Triathlon benefits Donate Life-SC, which works to promote tissue and organ donation across the state. Donations can be made during the registration process. A minimum donation of $20 will earn you a free coaching consultation.

Sailing for the Public
Sailing is a popular spring and summer sport in the Upstate. Western Carolina Sailing Club, filled with sailboats of all sizes, lies in a huge harbor along the shores of hartwell Lake. Once each year the club opens wide it's docks to the public so families and friends can enjoy a full, free day of sailing with competent Skippers, learning to sail, a tour of the grounds and docks and a grilled cookout for lunch. Sailing Open House is Saturday, May 5th starting at 10:00 am. Boat Smart Class in Oconee
The Golden Corner Lakes Sail and Power Squadron will offer a Boat Smart Class 7-9 p.m. for five Thursdays in May at Oconee Memorial Hospital. Registration will be at 6:30 p.m. on May 3.

Outdoor Recreation Show
The Oconee County Outdoor Recreation Show will be May 4-6 at the Shaver Complex at 698 WS 4th Street, featuring boats, RVs, and more. According to the City of Seneca website, the rental income from the booths will bring in approximately $15,000 plus admissions.

5K Volunteers Needed
The Lake Hartwell Dam Rum will be held Saturday, May 5, at 8:30 a.m. at Big Oaks Recreation Area. This event attracts over 1000 runners each year, so enthusiastic volunteers are needed to fill the many “jobs” necessary to produce such a great event for our community. USAT Junior Elite Cup Added to Clemson Triathlon
Set Up Events is proud to announce the addition of a USAT Junior Elite Cup to the Clemson Triathlon on Saturday, May 12, at Foothills Family YMCA, 275 YMCA Circle. Junior Elite athletes (ages 16 - 19 as of December 31, 2007) will have the chance to race in a draft legal format triathlon and earn points toward USAT's Junior Elite National Rankings.

Clemson Triathlon Filling Up
The Clemson Triathlon scheduled for May 12, 2007 has reached the 50% capacity mark. The Clemson Triathlon is a great early season tester and has become a favorite among southeastern area triathletes. 2007 Hartwell-Gold Poker Run
The Lake Hartwell Sail and Power Squadron kicks off the summer with their annual Hartwell Gold Rock 101 Poker Run on Lake Hartwell to benefit Meals on Wheels of Greenville and Anderson. The highlight of the event is the Vessel Safety Check (VSC) to help boaters start their summer off safely.
