CLEMSON, SC - As part of the WordBRIDGE Playwright's Laboratory, the Brooks Center at Clemson University presents "Freedom of Speech," Saturday, June 16, at 8 p.m., a one-woman theatre piece performed by actress, voice artists and singer/songwriter Eliza Jane Schneider. In the piece Schneider creates 25 characters that take the audience on a journey through the heart of America, stopping in beauty polars, swimming holes, bars, street corners, and churches. CONTAINS ADULT CONTENT AND LANGUAGE.

Eliza Jane Schneider is an actress, songstress, oral historian and playwright whose work on the stage, small and large screens has earned many accolades. In addition to being heard on the Comedy Central’s “South Park,” she also voiced most of the female characters on MTV’s animated show “3-South” and contributed voice talent to PIXAR’s “Finding Nemo.” She appeared in Mel Gibson’s “What Women Want” and has starred in two CBS Saturday Morning live action television series—the Emmy Award winning “Beakman’s World” and Howie Mandel’s “Amazing Live Sea Monkeys,”—for which she also wrote music.

Schneider’s solo stage play “USA 911” won her inclusion in the California Arts Council’s Touring Artist’s Roster, and “Road Trip” won a Drama-logue Critic’s Award for Outstanding Performance.

Title roles in productions of “Antigone” (Chicago) and “Agnes of God” (New York) are among some her most highly recognized stage characters she has performed.

Schneider is a graduate of the University of California-Los Angeles and the Eastman School of Music.
