Primary Elections Today

Voters around the Lake Hartwell area can go to the polls today to participate in primary elections, selecting candidates for the general election on November 4, 2008. Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on election day. Voters still standing in line at 7:00 p.m. will be allowed to vote. Prior to the election of the locations of the polling places will be listed in the newspaper and are available at the County Registration and Election Office. The name and the location of your precinct is listed on your voter registration card.

Voter Assistance:

  • Voter assistance is available for voters who are disabled, blind, or are unable to read or write. Such voters may request assistance and choose anyone to assist them except for their employer or an agent of their employer or an officer or agent of their union.
  • Curbside voting is available for voters who are disabled or elderly. They may vote outside the polling place utilizing the vehicle in which they were driven or have driven to the polls.

Presentation of Identification

  • A valid South Carolina driver's license
  • An identification card containing a photograph issued by the SC Department of Public Safety, Division of Motor Vehicles or
  • A valid voter registration certificate
