January 9-13, 2008 - Atlanta Boat Show The Hart County Chamber will have a booth (#248) at the Georgia World Congress Center promoting our community.

January 24, 2008 - Hart County Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Fellowship Hall in Hartwell at 7:00 p.m. The entertainment will be musical selections from the play, “Smoke on the Mountain". The cast will perform a variety of musical selections from the play, “Smoke on the Mountain" which is a hilarious comedy packed with vintage gospel music. Smoke on the Mountain takes place in 1938 at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant , N.C. The cast sings both traditional gospel and bluegrass. Featured in the Hartwell performance are Walter Gordon as Mervin Oglethorpe, Pat Rutherford as June Sanders, Mike Cole as Burl Sanders, Lynne Glasco as Vera Sanders, Bill Griggs as Stanley Sanders, Caren Rice as Denise Sanders and JoDon Garringer as Dennis Sanders. The show's musicians are Garringer on keyboard, Fran Heard on piano, Jody DiMarco on guitar, JoAnn Moore and Josh Hicks on banjos and Terry Blackwell on mandolin. Each ticket (which includes dinner) is $25 for Chamber Members and $30.00 Non-Chamber Members. The public is invited.
