Corps water-release plan overruled

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has twice this year sought to keep water releases from Thurmond Lake at 3,800 cfs until both Hartwell and Thurmond reach their full summer pool levels. Objections from other federal agencies shot down the proposal both times, forcing the corps to increase outflows by 200 cfs..

LAKE HARTWELL IS DOWN 6.2 FEET, CLEAR & 49 DEGREES - Bass fishing is fair and the fish are trying to move up. Anglers still seem to prefer the crank baits for the majority of the bass fishing.
