HART, GA - The Georgia Department of Revenue recently concluded a special investigation of the Hart County Board of Assessors. The investigation was conducted at the direction of Governor Sonny Perdue as a result of numerous taxpayer concerns and alleged problems over multiple years regarding the Hart County Board of Tax Assessors office.

The 68-page report includes an executive summary, findings, review of property and recommendations. According to the executive summary, the BOA's performance resulted in taxation problems.
